What is a Snowshoe cat?

The Snowshoe cat is considered one of the newest and rare breeds in the world, originating from the United States of America. The first Snowshoe cat was born in Philadelphia and it was possible due to a breeder named Dorothy Hinds-Daugherty. The successor of Dorothy, Vikki Olander, took the chance to spread the word of the Snowshoe cat and even got full recognition from various cat associations. Even though the Snowshoe cat has been around for more than 45 years, it is still a rare breed due to the nature of reproducing a cat with the correct coat pattern.
